About Beagle Paws

Our 2018 Impact: 117 Rescued, 101 Adopted, and 100% Spayed & Neutered. Beagle Paws, a registered charitable organization dependent on public donations, was established in 2003 by Sheila Lewis to rescue mistreated and abandoned Beagles. Since then, we have become Canada’s largest Beagle rescue, re-homing thousands of Beagles right across the country with the help of volunteer chapters and supporters coast to coast. Beagles are the most neglected dog breed in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the number one breed surrendered to local animal shelters. This continued demand to provide shelter to one specific breed resulted in a need for a larger, more suitable facility for Beagle Paws.
